  • Buzzworthy Wednesday Video: BooneOakley.com

So this week’s Buzzworthy Wednesday Video is actually a web site design. But it’s a video on YouTube. No kidding. This interesting approach to web design was for a creative agency, who chose to build their entire website within YouTube. They utilized YouTube’s annotations and video tagging to create the entire “website”.  The buzz from this “website” has led to more than 370,000 views in a little less than a month.

It’s an interesting concept in terms of online media buzz as it was featured on Creative Culture’s Creativity Top 5 among other blog and online references. I just wonder from a website traffic analytics and general online marketing perspective how much important information are they missing in exchange for this clever approach? All the same, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Absolutely imaginative and a fast turn around, youtube’s annotation feature hasn’t been around very long.

@NickInglis – YouTube’s Annotation feature has actually been around since last June but has gone largely unnoticed, mainly because it wasn’t very intuitive. They gave the annotations feature an overhaul to make it’s social interactivity much easier in February of this year. It’s definitely applications like this that take an imaginative approach to utilizing annotations tool that will further it’s usage and development in new and different applications.

Ever since Modernista launched the un-agency agency website, agencies have certainly taken a unique approach to their web identity. Boone-Oakley’s generated a lot of buzz, but I wonder how much business they’ll end up securing from all the media mentions? I also wonder how long they’ll be able to keep the site fresh and current? Every service-oriented company ends up servicing themselves last. However, it is a cool idea and I hope it helps them sell other cool ideas to existing or prospective clients.
