Thank you to the many of you who attended our seminar at the beginning of the month. We got a lot of great feedback on it and we are continuing to work with Constant Contact and hone our presentation about e-newsletters, viral video marketing and social networking. Because social networking is all about introducing yourself to new people in an online environment, we thought for this month's newsletter we would introduce ourselves to all the new VIP Members who have joined our mailing list since the seminar and introduce some new website features in this month's newsletter. As part of our own social networking effort and website improvements, we are pleased to introduce our new blogs feel free to comment and take part in the SmartMarket Movie Director's Cut Blog. Eric's will include lots of information about online video,  social networking ideas, statistics and a little pop culture thrown in just for fun. So maybe you met us at our seminar we did with Constant Contact, possibly you saw a post on LinkedIn or maybe you've found us on Google. In order to get a sense of where we're coming from, check out our bio pages. Simply click on the producer's image below, when you get to the website page, click on the same image to watch a humourous 1 minute video about Eric Guerin and a separate short video about Heather Riley. With more and more people using social networking sites, your avatar has become your personal brand that identifies you and what others think about you. Your avatar is that little image you upload to visually identify yourself on online profiles and social media websites. I frequently hear social media users say "update your avatar often on LinkedIn so you appear on your connections Network Updates page more often." This past weekend, I went to the Nantucket Film Festival - I have a dream to someday direct a short film and submit it to the festival circuit. So, my first step in accomplishing this is to check out the festival scene, right? So off I go to the Nantucket Film Festival. Alone. That in and of itself is conquering one of my fears- the whole being alone thing. Lots of Nantuckety people were there, strolling along, laughing with friends, sipping Chardonnay and buying pink and green outfits, and there I was. Alone. It was actually kind of refreshing. I haven't been anywhere with my arms swinging in a long time. My thoughts were my own and they were uninterrupted. Neat. Since conquering my first fear went so well  continue >>>
